Female Marine pilots from all over the United States attended the conference and also took time to assist officer selection officers from the 8th Marine Corps District. This year, the conference hosted 3,350 attendees, a new record for WAI.

The USO Liberty Bells singing trio performs patriotic favorites for the military VIP guests attending Armed Forces Appreciation Day Feb. 29, 2012, at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in Houston. The Liberty Bells, the USO’s only official chartered show troupe, travel the globe performing for service members, their families, veterans and military supporters.

Sgt. Maj. Blaine H. Jackson, Marine Aircraft Group 41 sergeant major, has spent the last 28 years leading, training and mentoring Marines throughout the Corps. Since becoming a Marine in 1983, Jackson has seen a lot of changes occur in the Marine Corps, most notably the diversity within the ranks. The Plaquemine, La. native believes that the Marine Corps is becoming a picture of society, which is a great thing for the country.

Orozco’s individual efforts earned him the Sergeant Gabriel Otero, Jr. Trophy for attaining the highest two-day match aggregate score during the 300-yard line rapid fire stage of the competition.
