The Omega Si Phi University of Oklahoma chapter competed in the 2011 OU Stompdown Showcase, sponsored by the Marine Corps, April 30. As part of their diversity initiative the Marines of Recruiting Station Oklahoma City met with members of the Black Student Association to determine areas in which they could support the black community. This year marked the first time any military service chose to support this event – a fact that has created a positive and mutually- beneficial relationship between the students here and their local Marines.

RECRUITING STATION OKLAHOMA CITY - Burgers, like this third-pounder bacon and cheese should not be the first round pick for a recruiter in the fight to stay healthy. These meal options have a large portion of protein and carbohydrates, which may sound great for a hard work out, but the total fat, sodium and calories put it way over the line for people looking for a sensible dietary option. This particular burger has a whopping 790 calories, 350 of which are from fat, a scale tipping 39 grams of fat; from which 17 are saturated and two are Trans fat and 2070 milligrams of sodium. Add a small fry and you are set for the rest of the day, as long as you skip dinner.
