Recruiting Station South Texas
Commanding Officer

 

Upon commissioning, attending The Basic School and being trained as a Logistics Officer, Major Lovos was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. From May 2015 to July 2018, he was assigned to 7th Communication Battalion, III MEF Headquarters Group where he served as the Motor Transport Platoon Commander, Battalion Logistics Officer, and Headquarters Company Commander. From August 2018 to June 2020, he was assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing where he became a Weapons and Tactics Instructor for Aviation Ground Support, served as the Assistant Operations Officer, Squadron Logistics Officer, and Motor Transport Company Commander.

After serving five years overseas in III Marine Expeditionary Force, Major Lovos returned to Austin, Texas to serve as the Officer Selection Officer for Recruiting Station San Antonio from June 2020 to June 2023. There he also earned a Masters of Science in Technology Commercialization from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.

In July 2023, Major Lovos was assigned as the Operations Officer for Combat Logistics Battalion 5, Combat Logistics Regiment 1, 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force. During this assignment he became an Expeditionary Logistics Instructor, deployed as part of the Logistics Combat Element for the Marine Rotational Force – Darwin 24.3 Marine Air Ground Task Force, completed Command and Staff College, and was subsequently selected to be a Recruiting Station Commander.

Major Lovos was assigned as the Commanding Officer of Recruiting Station South Texas in July of 2025. This assignment includes the activation of the 48th Marine Corps Recruiting Station.
