Gunnery Sergeant Travis White enlisted into the Marine Corps in April 2012 and graduated from MCRD San Diego 3rd Recruit Training Battalion as a Meritorious Private First Class for graduating as Squad Leader in June 2012.
He went on to attend Marine Combat Training in July 2012. Upon completion of training at Camp Pendleton, California he attended the Enlisted Warehousing Basic Course in Camp Johnson, NC.
In October 2012, he reported to 1st Supply Bn, Combat Logistics Regiment in Camp Pendleton, California where he served as a Warehouse Clerk. He was promoted to Lance Corporal in February 2013. During his time as a Warehouse Clerk, he conducted numerous training exercises in support of 1st MLG. In November 2013 he was promoted to Corporal.
In June of 2014 he received orders to SPMAGTF Central Command in Camp Pendleton, CA to be forward deployed to Al Jabber, Kuwait and Al Asad, Iraq. During this 7 month deployment, he was the Warehouse NCOIC that directly assisted and controlled all the shipping and receiving aspects of the gear. He attended Corporals Course Resident for his Professional Military Education while on deployment. In March 2015, he was awarded a Certificate of Commendation for his efforts on the deployment.
In May 2015 he returned to 1st Supply Bn, Combat Logistics Regiment in Camp Pendleton, California where he would end up attending Martial Arts Instructor course as a First Degree Black belt instructor.
He received many certifications to include: HITT level 1 and HITT level 2 as a specialist within his command. After completion of this command, he received orders to 1st Reconnaissance Bn, 1st Marine Regiment in Camp Pendleton, CA February 2016. In February of 2016, he became the Warehouse Chief for 1st Reconnaissance Supply. In June 2016, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. He then attended Sergeants Course Resident a month later to complete his Professional Military Education. From that point forward, he was in charge of over $10.5 million in special operation gear and was directly responsible for the shipping and receiving of the gear within the commander’s intent. While at 1st Reconnaissance Bn, 1st Marine Regiment he received many certifications to include: Associate’s degree in general education from Central Texas College, CLC2S Operator, and Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education.
He then received orders to attend Basic Recruiters Course in February 2018. In April 2018, he completed the Basic Recruiters Course and reported to 8th Marine Corps District, Recruiting Station Denver, Recruiting Substation Springs South on May 2018. From May 2018 to February 2020, he was promoted meritoriously to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
From January 2020 to March 2021 Staff Sergeant White was the SNCOIC for RSS Pueblo.
He transitioned to his second Station at RSS Fort Collins in which he earned numerous RSS awards including Large RSS of the quarter (4th), Large RSS of the month for September, Large RSS of the month of October, Large RSS of month of November and Large RSS of the month of December. He was then meritoriously promoted to rank of Gunnery Sergeant in January of 2022.
In April 2022 he then served as the Officer Selection Assistant Chief in Fort Collins, Colorado where he would mold, mentor, and guide the future of Marine Officer Candidates. From October 2022 to June 2023, he then became the Assistant recruiter instructor.
He then received orders to Recruiting Substation Albuquerque in August 2023 where he would again serve as the Assistant Recruiter Instructor for 3 months. He would go on and serve as the Operations Chief from October 2023 to June 2024.
He currently serves the Marines of Albuquerque as the Recruiter Instructor.
