Major Patrick Brown

Major Patrick L Brown Jr was born in Fort Worth, TX in 1982. He enlisted in 2003 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, CA. Patrick attended the University of Texas at Arlington and the University of Phoenix, graduating with a B.S. in Management.

From 2003-2008 he served with MWSS-473 as a combat engineer, primary MCMAP Instructor, and platoon sergeant. During his time with MWSS-473, Patrick augmented to 6th Engineer Service Battalion and deployed to Al Anbar, Iraq in the Spring of 2005 to conduct combat engineer operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During this period, Patrick received a combat meritorious promotion to the rank of corporal.

During the summers of 2006 and 2007, Patrick attended the Platoon Leaders Course in Quantico, VA. Upon finishing his undergraduate he commissioned as a 2ndLt. During The Basic School, Patrick pursued aviation and attained a competitive air contract.

From 2009-2012, Major Brown underwent Naval Aviation Training and selected the AH-1W. His follow-on squadron tour was with HMLA-467 at MCAS Cherry Point and New River.

In 2014, Major Brown reported to CJTF-HOA and served in a joint capacity in Djibouti, Africa as a force mission planner. During this period, he worked in the Joint Operations Center and managed aircraft sorties into and out of coalition airspace. Additionally, he worked with various African nations to strengthen US-African objectives.

In 2016, Patrick attended Marine Intelligence Officer Course at Damneck, VA. He immediately reported to Marine Air Control Group-38 (MACG-38) as the Group’s Intelligence Officer. While at MACG-38, Patrick was selected to become the Headquarters Company Commander while leading the intelligence program.

From 2017 to 2019, he reported to Marine Aircraft Group 11 to serve as the Group’s Intelligence Officer and to prepare for an upcoming deployment to Al Anbar, Iraq. He later deployed with ROTO 18.2 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and served as the Future Operations Officer and Liaison Officer in Baghdad, Iraq.

In 2019, Major Brown departed Active Duty and served as the Collections Officer with 4th Marine Air Wing in New Orleans, LA.

In 2021, Major Brown accepted orders as the ACE lead planner for Marine Aircraft Group 41 to prepare the group for Integrated Training Exercise 4-22 in Twentynine Palms, CA.

In 2022, Major Brown accessed into the Active Reserve Program and is the current Prior Service Recruiting Station 8, Officer-in-Charge.

Major Brown is a graduate of Expeditionary Warfare School, Command and Staff, and has completed the French Foreign Legion Desert Commando Course in Djibouti, Africa.

His personal awards include Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with 2 stars, and Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 1 star.
