Major Vince S. Margiotta

Major Vince S. Margiotta was born and raised in the Dallas Fort Worth area, and upon graduating from the University of Texas, commissioned in the Marine Corps in 2008. Second Lieutenant Margiotta attended The Basic School and the Infantry Officer Course.

Upon completion of the Infantry Officer Course, he reported to 2d Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division in Camp Pendleton, California. Second Lieutenant Margiotta served as a Rifle Platoon Commander and prepared to deploy in support of the 31st MEU, but was selected to serve as a combat replacement for 2d Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Upon return from deployment, 2nd Lieutenant Margiotta rejoined 2d Battalion, 5th Marines as a Weapons Platoon Commander and deployed again in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

In 2013, Captain Margiotta received orders to Recruiting Station Fort Worth and served as the Operations Officer and Executive officer until August 2016. After a successful tour on recruiting duty, Captain Margiotta attended the Expeditionary Warfare School.

Upon graduation of the Expeditionary Warfare School in 2017, Captain Margiotta took command of Fox Company, 2d Battalion, 4th Marines, 1st Marine Division, and deployed as a part of Marine Rotation Force Darwin in 2018. Upon return from deployment, Major Margiotta was assigned to 1st MLG as the G-3 Training Officer. During his tour with the 1st MLG, Major Margiotta assumed the duties of Current Operations Officer and coordinated the global force management and large scale exercise employment of 1st MLG Formations.

In June of 2020, Major Margiotta reported to his current assignment as Commanding Officer, Recruiting Station Salt Lake City.

Major Margiotta holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history with a minor in political science from The University of Texas in Austin.

Major Margiotta’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Gold Star in lieu of second award, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Combat Distinguishing Device with Gold Star in lieu of second award, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
