Major Wyper was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After attending Officer Candidates School via the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) program, he was commissioned in May 2013, and then attended The Basic School (TBS) and Marine Corps Engineer School.

In October 2014, Second Lieutenant Wyper reported to 7th Engineer Support Battalion (ESB). While assigned to 7th ESB, he served as a platoon commander and a company executive officer. In 2016, he served as the Operations Officer for Combat Logistics Detachment, 1st Battalion, 1st Marines as part of Marine Rotational Force Darwin.

In May 2017, First Lieutenant Wyper reported to Recruiting Station Denver, 8th Marine Corps Recruiting District. He served as the operations officer for two years before becoming the executive officer. In 2020 he attended Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, VA.

In June 2021, Captain Wyper assumed command of Alpha Company, 1st Combat Engineer Battalion (CEB) where he served for two years.

In May 2023, Major Wyper reported to 7th ESB as the battalion operations officer.

Maj Wyper received a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs from the University of Maine.
