A native of Jackson, MS, Sergeant Major Peeler enlisted in the Marine Corps out of Recruiting Station San Antonio in July 2001 and attended recruit training at MCRD San Diego. Upon graduation, Private Peeler attended the Engineer Equipment Instruction Course located in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He was promoted to Private First Class while attending the Basic Operator Course.
Upon completion of the school, Private First Class Peeler was assigned to 8th Engineer Support Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, where he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and held the billet of Licensing Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO). He was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal during this deployment.
In September 2004, Lance Corporal Peeler was assigned to 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group. During his tenure, he was promoted through the ranks to Sergeant and served as the Platoon Sergeant in Charlie Company. Sergeant Peeler completed two successful tours in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In June 2008, Sergeant Peeler reported to Houston, TX, 8th Marine Corps District, where he served as a Canvassing Recruiter at Recruiting Substation Northshore. During this assignment, he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
In March 2011, Staff Sergeant Peeler was assigned to Motor Transport Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 6, and assumed the duty of Staff Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge. During his tenure, he deployed twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In August 2013, he transferred to General Support Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 2, and assumed the billet of Company Gunnery Sergeant.
Staff Sergeant Peeler reported to Marine Wing Support Squadron 373, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing in May 2014 and was assigned as Platoon Commander for Engineer Company, deploying to Bahrain in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. During the deployment, he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. Shortly after his return, he assumed the billet of Senior Enlisted Leader for Engineer Support Company and deployed to Kuwait in direct support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
In August 2018, Gunnery Sergeant Peeler was assigned to 3rd Marine Division, 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force in Okinawa, Japan. He served as the Division Engineer Chief as well as the Engineer Chief Inspector for the 3rd Marine Division Logistical Readiness Inspection Team. He was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant and served as the H&S Company First Sergeant until his departure from Okinawa.
First Sergeant Peeler reported to Echo Company, 4th Tank Battalion, in 2020 as the Company Inspector-Instructor Senior Enlisted Leader. While serving in this role, he assisted the battalion with the deactivation of the 4th Tank Battalion in support of the Marine Corps Force Design 2030 planning guidance.
In May 2022, First Sergeant Peeler was assigned to Deployment Processing Command, Reserve Support Unit–West, Force Headquarters Group, where he served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major prior to his departure.
In May 2025, Sergeant Major Peeler was assigned as the Recruiting Station Dallas Senior Enlisted Leader.
Sergeant Major Peeler's personal awards include two Meritorious Service Medals with gold star, two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals with gold star, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of a second award.
