Country Thunder Welcomes The Marines

1 Nov 2021 | 8th Marine Corps District

Yee-Haw! Your Marines from the 8th Marine Corps District Mobile Marketing Team have driven over 900 miles from Fort Worth, TX to Florence, AZ to attend the 2021 Country Thunder Music Festival. The Mobile Marketing Team (MMT) is a mobile marketing asset for the 8th Marine Corps District that specializes in building awareness and recruiting at large scale events. The MMT utilize their equipment to promote the opportunities that the Marine Corps can provide. Country Thunder is one of the most popular country festivals across the United States. With artists such as Luke Combs, Dustin Lynch, and Eric Church, Country Thunder is known to attract a large audience. During the festival, the Mobile Marketing Team deployed their full set-up to include the famous pull-up challenge and the indoor virtual rifle range. Each asset is beneficial for generating awareness and exposure in the community.

“It’s not all about numbers when it comes to recruiting, it also about building rapport with every community we’re in and leaving a positive outlook on the Marine Corps as well as providing the extra knowledge and information to those who want it” said Sergeant Peter A. Lopez, the  Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of the Mobile Marketing Team.

In addition to attending community events, the MMT strive to engage with our audience through a diversity of channels. The MMT utilize social media outlets including Instagram and Facebook to build awareness and promote a positive relationship with the local community. The Marine Corps provides an opportunity to everyone who answers their call to service.

The Mobile Marketing Team will continue to travel and attend community events with the goal to build partnerships and awareness about the Marine Corps.
