Fort Worth, Tx. -- On August 23, 2021 Educators within the 8th Marine Corps Districts area of operation participated in week long events held at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Ca.
The Educators Workshop is designed to inform teachers, counselors, and education professionals about military service and how the Marine Corps presents an opportunity to transform young men and women into United States Marines.
Educators participate in different events during the week that are all associated with Recruit Training. Events such as receiving day, repel tower, rifle range, confidence course, and the 12 stalls challenges. They also visit other San Diego Based Installations such as Marine Corps Air Station Miramar were they receive a tour of their facilities and an opportunity to view and tour aircraft. They also visit Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton were they are able to get an insight view to field training, the rifle range, and the Crucible were upon completion a Recruit completes the transformation and earns their title of Marine.
During all these events the educators are give opportunities to speak with Marines from different backgrounds, and Military Occupational Specialties in order to get a better sense of the diversity and career based opportunities that the Marine Corps Presents.
