Sgt. Maj. Troy Nicks, Sergeant Major for 8th Marine Corps District speaks to spouses about recruiting during the District Spouses Orientation Course 2-17 at the Lone Star Center, August 8, 2017. More than 40 Marine spouses from throughout the district will learn about the demanding life of Marines on recruiting duty, be given resources to promote a successful recruiting tour and build camaraderie among other spouses. The DSOC introduces family members to the business of recruiting and helps them adapt to unique challenges encountered while on recruiting duty.
