Sergeant Dallas Allen , a recruiter with Recruiting Substation Oklahoma City South, Recruiting Station Oklahoma City, is pinned the Bronze Star at the Oklahoma City National Memorial Aug. 23. Allen, was awarded the Bronze Star with the combat distinguishing “V” device, for valor for his extraordinary actions while partnered with the Afghan National Army in Helmand Province, when a rogue Afghan soldier opened fire on Allen’s squad. As the only member of the patrol unharmed during the barrage, Allen located the enemies’ position and killed him. He later controlled the situation by sending medical evacuation requests, establishing security and aiding in casualty care. The 26-year old Allen is from Gloucester, Va. (Marine Corps Photo By Sgt.
