Kathryn Evezich, a sophomore at the University of Colorado and officer candidate from Officer Selection Office Denver, listens as retired Marine Col. Robert C. Lehnert, a former fighter pilot, tells his story about being part of the “Lost Squadron” in World War II, while at Lehnert’s home Dec. 23, 2010. A film crew from Connecticut is producing a documentary about Marine Fighting Squadron 422 and the accident that occurred on Jan. 25, 1944, when the squadron lost 22 of 23 planes over the Pacific Ocean.
